Trey's Baptism Cross Mini Cakes
These were individual cakes made with pound cake, a thin raspberry jam layer, a thin buttercream layer and a final layer of tinted "faux fondant" poured over. The crosses were made out of fondant. I am still having a hard time figuring out how to get the mini cakes fully covered with the faux fondant. As you can see from the picture you can see some pound cake on some of them which is why serving them on cupcake holders helps to cover that up!!! Any words of wisdom are appreciated.

Laurie's Baby Shower
Four 3 layer 4x4 cakes covered in fondant. Fondant teddy bear and duck. This was my first tiered cake and first time using dowel rods. It was much easier than I had expected so I was proud! I definitely need to practice on making squares actually look like squares 'cause they turned out to be square-like sorta bulgy!

Present Cake
This is a carrot cake with cream cheese frosting covered in fondant. Unfortunately, the cake was cold when I covered it in fondant and therefore the fondant became very shiny and actually started to fall off the cake. This never made it to the birthday party although I was able to get a picture beofre all the fondant melted off. I am assuming that this happened b/c the cake had been in the fridge b/c this has never happened to me before!! I was so sad!

Pea Pod Up Close
This is an up close picture of the pea pod. I tried to hand paint the faces however the food coloring kept running so instead I just drew eyes with edible markers. I wanted them to have rosey cheeks and a little hair but it didn't look good drawn on and I couldn't figure out how to keep the food coloring from running.

Pea Pods Wanna Be
This is my first attempt at Lisa Mae's georgous pea pods. I had a really hard time covering the petit fours with faux fondant. I used the recipe off this site. I could not get the sides of the petit fours to be covered. Any advice on how to get the faux fondant to pour down the sides evenly? I've only made a few cakes in my entire life so I have a lot to learn and I welcome any and all words of wisdom!!!! Thanks so much!
