Roses, Crystals And Butterflies Too
I glued Swarovski crystals onto silver wires and twisted them around a dowel for the cake topper. I used a 5 petal cutter to make the roses, much easier this way. I used Patchwork Butterfly cutters too. The bottom two tiers are fruit cakes and the top is sponge. The cake is a ton weight!

Playful Puppies
Took a break from making roses for a wedding cake and came up with these. I'm doing a demonstration at a cake event here in Scotland in a couple of weeks and will also be doing little mini workshops....so needed something as a project. These will do I think! Maybe I'll include one of these when I'm in Texas too. ;o)

Sound Of Music Theme...loosely!
The nun on here is Samantha, the recipient of the cake and not Maria....hence the champagne! There are just a few "favourite things" on this cake. With a bigger budget I could have done so much more but it was time to stop. I'd like to do this theme again just for show, so I just might!

A Demo Version Of Bear Hugs
I did this for a demonstration at a local college last night. I'm always left with these so this one will travel around with me on future demos just for show. It's another version of Bear Hugs but I changed the eyebrows slightly and added extra colour to the inner ear. No doubt the next one will be different again!

Black And White Theme Character Wedding Cake
Another character wedding cake. This is the first of the black and white themes I have this year. I've another one of these coming up in May with 9 characters on it. The amount of times I had to wash my hands during the making of this one was unbelievable. Black is the worst colour to use but I love the effect.

Ellie's Cake
I made little Ellie a couple of weeks ago and posted her earlier so here she is finally on her cake! I'll be sad to say goodbye to this little girl...I grew quite fond of her. I wrote Ellie's name on the side of the cake with edible glue and extruded fondant through a sugar shaper using the large hole dic and carefully stuck the fondant onto the "writing" cutting away the excess as I went along.

Jimmy Choo Shoe
I made the shoe from sugarpaste (fondant) and CMC (Tylopur or Tylose powder). I made it a few days ago to allow to harden and just made one so it's just as well I didn't drop it before I stuck it onto the cake! I used a strip cutter for the black strips. Still took forever to stick them all in place but it's done now...thank goodness.

Cheers!
This figure is created on top of a dummy cake for show only. I am doing a demonstration tonight and am taking this lad along with me as tartan is the order of the day. In my haste to put him together, I missed out his waistcoat! I doubt it will make too much difference for now. I'll be creating a bride along with her groom in July workshops. I'm looking forward to that myself! :o)

Teddy Cupcake Toppers
Level the top of your cupcake and cut a disc of fondant in any colour of your choice to fit the top. Spread some buttercream onto the cake and attach the disc. Make these little bear heads and glue into position with some edible glue. You can find a video of the bear in the Cake Decorating forum. :o)

Caravan And Butterflies!
I don't choose the themes for these....I just do what is asked if I can. The bottom cake is fruit cake and the top is a sponge with vanilla buttercream filling. The topper can be removed as it is created onto a cake card and attached with royal icing. No people on this one! My goodness! The butterflies are done using Patchwork cutters and I cut the middle out and piped royal icing onto the cake to stick the wings into and so not leaving them flat. A wedding cake with a difference I think!

Bride And Groom On A Motorbike
This is my first wedding couple for 2008. I adapted Carol Deacon's motorbike from her party cakes book for this one as transport isn't my forte! The bride loves it so that's the main thing. My first kilty man of the year and certainly not the last. I've no request for trousers at all yet!

Playboy Bunny
I didn't cover this cake, it was bought from a supermarket. I agreed at extremely short notice to decorate the top of it as there was no real work involved. The lovely lady gave me such a sob story I couldn't say no! I just took an image from google and cut around it to use as a template on top of my black paste and cut the bunny with the tip of a sharp knife dipped in water and partially wiped to give a nice clean cut. The hearts are done with cutters too so after a little sparkle dusting it was done.
