Wedding Reception In Nj
This cake traveled 600 miles from NC to NJ to celebrate the wedding of my cousin who got married in on the beach in Puerto Rico a few months ago. For traveling, and unfortunately having to put it in the fridge for little bit (98 degrees on the farm), hence the sweating, I think it turned out pretty nice. Fondant covered butter cream, fondant bamboo, Gumpaste hibiscus, small flowers and leaves. The Happy was a personal touch for the bride - she saw this carved in the sand on the day of her wedding. They loved it.

Hagrid's Hut
I made this cake for my Niece's 10th Birthday. She is a HUGE Harry Potter fan and asked for a cake that her figures could put put on. It was a lot of work, but I am fairly happy with how it turned out. The RKT roof on the main room started melting a little, but what can you do? I used 8" square and 6" square pans and carved them to the shape. Roof on both are RKT. All edible but a few skewers (and figures of course!)

Navy Retirement Cake
I tried to replicate the USS Farragut which was the 1st destroyer my Dad was on in the Navy. It's yellow/chocolate covered in BC and then MMF. Carved 11x15 and I used a small 4x4 cake on top (made from left over cake after carving) Foam covered in fondant for the other 3D parts of the ship.

Optimus Prime Birthday Cake
This is my first carved cake! Thank you to Pieceofcake2000 for all your help and inspiration on this cake. It's made with a 9x13 and two loaf pans and iced with buttercream. The best part of the time it took to make this cake is the Birthday boy (4 years old) knew it was Optimus prime!!

Las Vegas Birthday Cake
This cake was made, by the request of her boyfriend, for my sister's birthday party (she will be in Vegas for her actual b-day). It is her favorite funfetti cake with crusting buttercream icing. All accents are fondant except the dice (dollar store) and pair of aces. This was a fun cake...a little last minute, but he gave me creative control and it turned out to be really fun!

Neice's 6Th Birthday
This is my 2nd attempt at a tiered cake. My sister asked me to do this cake for her daughter and thanks to all the ideas from CC I was able to piece this together. The buttercream wasn't cooperating (very humid weather) so I couldn't get it very smooth. The fondant accents were also a first, and I'm fairly pleased with the results. The yellow stars were sprinkled with edible sparkles and the letters were "lit" with piped white dots for the bulb effect. She did love it, which is all that counts!!

Pink "it's Your Day" Cake
I made this after hearing my sister was not getting a birthday cake for her birthday. I made it very quickly (double layer chocolate cake with vanilla icing). I actually used strawberry kiwi cool-aid for the pink color. It tasted very good! Chocolate icing was store-bought and piped on for scroll effect. She loved it - even though it was on one of my dinner plates!!

October Birthday Cake
I am the queen of last minute! This was a apple spice cake with cream cheese icing I made for my Mom's 55th birthday (55 is in the pumpkin vines on the top of the cake). Very simple, but got ideas from CC for the pumpkin and the vines - you guys rock! Never used fondant before, so the pumpkins are VERY orange because they came in a neon color pack! My Mom loved it and the cake was yummy!
