Mary's Birthday Cake, View 2
shows the top of Mary's cake. I think the dowels are poking out a little.
Mary's Birthday Cake
This is a french vanilla cake with strawberry filling covered in pink buttercream and pink fondant. I used my new bow cutter to make the fondant striped accents - I love that tool! The M on top is rolled out of fondant. I found I really like working with satin ice.
Close Up Of Puppy
I molded this puppy out of fondant using Debbie Brown's instructions in her 50 Easy Party Cakes book.
Ty's Groom's Cake
Red velvet cake with cream cheese icing. After the pic was taken, I added a few more strawberries.
Sara's Wedding Cake
4 tier White cake, white buttercream, off-white accents with silver dragees. Fresh pink roses. This cake tipped over while placing on the stand as the bride watched. I was absolutely mortified!! I fixed what I could and placed flowers on the places that looked horrible. When it tipped over, the bottom tier started to ooze filling. Overall, it turned out ok - but I hope it never happens again!
The groom is diabetic and requested a low-sugar cake that he could eat too. I ended up making a chocolate cake using 1/2 sucralose, 1/2 sugar which cut the sugar tremendously. The raspberry filling and whipped toppinge were sugar free. I added semi-sweet & white chocolate shavings and whole raspberries for decoration. The cake tasted wonderful...like a really dense brownie.
Fondant & Ribbon Wedding Cake View 2
The cake is white cake, buttercream frosting and rolled fondant. The ribbon is a chocolate colored grosgrain and gumpaste flowers, silk leaves for the topper. The base is a fondant covered, wooden lazy susan.
