Sara's Wedding Cake on Cake Central

4 tier White cake, white buttercream, off-white accents with silver dragees. Fresh pink roses. This cake tipped over while placing on the stand as the bride watched. I was absolutely mortified!! I fixed what I could and placed flowers on the places that looked horrible. When it tipped over, the bottom tier started to ooze filling. Overall, it turned out ok - but I hope it never happens again!

WOW!! I don't see a cake distaster at ALL--I just see a really beautiful cake! You did an awesome job on the "recovery!"

What type of support did you have for the tiers? A cake I did for my sisters wedding fell over as well because I did not have good support for the weight on the sides. Overall you did a good job on this cake.

On the bottom 2 tiers, I used five 1/4" dowels, one in the center and four right under the edges of the tier above. On the third tier, I used four dowels and the top had none. Should I have more? Or bigger dowels? I'm still pretty new to this...
