I designed this for a couple that had a baby on the way and wanted it to be symbolized by humming birds. They had first wanted us to hand Porcaline humming birds....not happening! These were made of Gumpaste and hung with fishing wire. The baby bird rests in the nest below.
The flowers and ribbons were made of gumpaste. This was the first wedding cake I did completely on my own. I recieved compliments from the pastry chef as well as executive chef from The Biltmore of Santa Barbara.
A mini couch with a newspaper to hold the Well wishings. And what is dads favorite chair without some beatup slippers made of dark modeling choc.
A fondant cake with fondant boxes. the Bow and ribbons are made from White Modeling chocolate. The fruite were lightly brushed with pasturized egg whites and then Sugared.
I made this for a company party.
The Boots are the Cake. We covered the boys old snowboard with plastic wrap and then coated it in royal icing. I hand painted all of the decals on the board but unfortunatly I dont have a closer shot of them.
The duckies are modeling white choc and the bubbles are blown sugar. The focett was gumpaste that was modled over a wire and painted with silver.
This was my wedding cake. My lovely husband helped me make it by punching out flowers and painting the edges gold. Only the top tier was styrofoam. All the gold on here is 23k.
Blown Sugar bubbles in various colors and pulled sugar seaweed. the shells were out of gumpaste and then I painted them with Petal / Luster dusts.
