Chocolate Mud Cake for my Neighbours 70th b'day. Ride-On, Trailer, cat, boots, pots and rope trim all made out of fondant strengthened with Tylose. First time at modelling anything that resembles what end product is to be!! (Except the cat ....)
My Niece and fiance are reptile and amphibian owners and I wanted to incorporate this into their cake. A very big thank you to "dabear" for the simplistic turtle design which I used. I tried to make turtles (with much grief) with separate body parts but this design was a cinch!! The side panels are meant to replicate the invitation and was piped with Royal icing. Thanks for looking!!
My good friend's daughters' 21st B'day cake. It is a Black and White Party which is the dress code also. The party girl is wearing a yellow dress, hence the numbers being done in yellow. Faces were done with chocolate molds, feathers and fluff as accents. Cachous on points of black diamonds. It was fun to make, but black fondant is very soft to work with. Thanks for lookin' and I hope you enjoy ( visually) my cake .
My DD who is 14 decorated a simple Fathers Day cake for her Dad. The cake is just a store bought fruit cake which I covered with fondant. The tie is modelled out of fondant and painted with silver. A quick and simple idea for a gift. One was also made for her Grandfather which was presented in a box. A 7 inch diameter cake that is quick to decorate and manageable to give as a gift.
Birthday Cake for my Niece, First time Gerbera's. I had a bit of trouble assembling as a few petals broke, but overall was happy with the final cake. Tea leaves were used for middle of orange gerbera. Thx for looking....
My Co-Worker is coming back from a 5-week holiday from O'seas and I thought I would make her a welcome -home cake. She does the filing, so the filing is now a mess 'coz no-one had time to do it. The teddy bear with a tear 'coz we missed her. Shredded paper overfilling the bin, and the skeleton? That's me waiting for my cup of tea that she makes for me every morning - am I spoilt, Yes.... A bit of fun - I hope it makes you smile. My DD made the teddy.
My DD wanted this cake for her 14th B'day. First time at making a bow - I made the loops and my daughter assembled the bow. 5 days later and the cake is still sitting on the dining room table in all its glory. NOT allowed to cut it.!! and Thank you cassie1686. Oh yeah, and there is lustre dust on the ribbon and bows which were made of the colour purple - mixed leftover fondant colours and added more blue and red....
This is my first attempt at making a modelling paste flower. The paste was coloured pink first, then dusted with chalk and steamed to set the colour. It's a bit of a giant so there wasn't need for anything else on the cake, well, there wasn't any room anyway. My giant Poinsettia was the feature!! Gold ribbon edged my first go at frilling. Ribbon hides a multitude of errors and dodgy edges. Thanks for looking......
This was a cake for my niece's son. The cherub was from her wedding cake. Choc.mud cake is bottom layer, fruit cake is middle, and choc. mud cake was used for cherub to sit . The jungle animals on the blocks were cut-outs made from modelling paste.
