Whhoooopps!!! I almost forgot to make this smash cake to go with the balloons birthday cake I made yesterday. I cut the tiers from a one layer cake with cookie cutters. They're about 4" and 3" in diameter.
This is for a 1 year old's birthday. Mom says he likes balloons, so that's what I went with. Mom aske for this color scheme-she's an interior decorator and knows what she's talkin' 'bout. Love these colors!
These were fun-time consuming, but fun.
This was just a small cake for a friend's little girl's birthday.
I guess this is turning into my signature cake. I've done a couple of these that I have not posted. People seem to really like it.
Had a request for Spongebob driving a 'vette. Would have liked to do more for the cake but I ran out of time and energy, plus I didn't quote a high enough price so I just drew some bikini bottom background flowers and called it a night.
This cake was inspired by the wonderful work of a handful of people at flickr.com. It was designed to celebrate the 40th anniversary of a "bride" who likes gardening and a "groom" who likes golf.
This was my shot at a gluten free, milk free cake. I hope the boy likes it.
This one is made from 3 10" rounds.
I HATE the kitty but I was pretty happy with the cake design. I was lazy last night and put off doing the figure so that's the price I pay when I wait till the last minute!
A woman I work with does portrait photography on the side. She likes to do first birthday pictures of the little one destroying a cake. She ordered these for twins to smash. Mini's grrr....
The pink ones were inspired by bakinccc's beautiful cookies.
A teacher I work with ordered a dozen of these to help celebrate her grandparents 79th wedding anniversary. Amazing!!
Another go at the pillow-tiara thing.
This was a last minute throw together for my brother's birthday. If I'd had more time and energy (on an 8 cake weekend) it would've turned out better. But he and everyone at dinner loved it. A waitress approached me about making her 21st birthday cake.
6" 1/2 ball pan
Another request for this cake-this time for a boy, so trimmed in blue.
Borrowed from iheartpastry's interpretation of Hugs n Stitches.
Still need to work on my airbrushing technique, but it sure was a lot faster than brushing with dusts by hand.
My first doll cake. Had to use a couple of rounds under the wondermold because the barbie was so tall. I think the barbie really made the cake. She's so pretty compared to those doll picks.
Borrowed the idea from Anne Heap at Pink Cake Box. Gumpaste daisies. SMBC.
Strawberry Lemonade cake with strawberry cream cheese filling and lemon SMBC. Mmmmm, I think this is my new favorite flavor.
Yep, yet another soccer ball request. This time I decided to use the leaf tip for the grass and I really like the way that came out.
After I made samples of accoutant themed cookies.. .well, that accountant association called me and asked for flowers :-).
