For a friend of our eldest daughter - we are hosting her baby shower today. Little rubber duckies peeking out of the package on top. Iced with BC, fondant lid, bow, tissue paper, duckies and flowers. I bought those hex pans to practice for daughter's wedding cake next year -- now realize this would have looked more like a package/box/present if I'd used square pans. Oh well. Thanks to everyone here for your generous ideas on tissue paper, boxes, lids, etc.
All they wanted was "chocolate and pink". Chocolate cake and buttercream, fondant bow and ribbons, royal icing dots. My first time with hexagonal pans. What a pain! But they loved it.
For our youngest daughter's high school graduation. All buttercream. My first attempt at multiple layers with a cardboard/drinking straws support system. Everything looks a little wiggly and not-perfect --- but I figured that's what her tattered old school books looked like, too!
