Island Princess birthday cake for a 1yo. 8" cake, everything edible but the ribbon around the base. May have lost my mind on this one as I spent 7hrs on the girl's hair alone. But I think it was all worth it. Phrase on the cake is in Palauan.
Lesson learned on these? Never agree to make 36 of anything with legs! lol

My first buttercream cake in what seems like forever! I'm just never happy with my smoothing, but this one finally turned out okay. All fondant accents. Flowers are from a hydrangea cutter, and leaves are the tips off of a rose calyx cutter. 10" WASC, Sugarshack's amazing buttercream, and fondant covered board. My first (and, I hope, last!) guitar cake! Order was for a blue electric guitar with not-so-girly flowers. This is life-size, carved from two 12x18 sheet cakes, WASC covered in buttercream and FondX. Only things not edible are the strings and the tacks holding them in. HUGE thanks to everyone on CC who helped me with all of my questions! This was a very last minute cake for my Mom's birthday. Probably looks a little odd to the outsider but there is a story behind it! My mom collects what we call "ugly vases" that she picks up in antique stores and estate sales. Her rule is they can't cost more than a few dollars and the uglier the better. So I made her one out of gumpaste in her favorite color. The rose is small because my dad has a habit of picking tiny single blossoms and putting them in bigger vases in the window. Comments welcomed!

My son requested a "Shark Week" cake for his 5th birthday this year. He was very specific in that he wanted a tiger shark, a great white, and a hammerhead shark along with scuba divers and every other little detail you see right down to the bubbles. My ds turned 5 and wanted to take a shark cake to school. For the sake of the teacher who would have to serve the darn thing, I talked him into cupcakes. We went really simple with these because he has his big "Shark Week" cake coming this weekend. TFL!
