Randyl's Butterflies
6 & 10" square tiers with wafer paper butterflies made using the method posted in CC's articles. I used the patterns from WBH for their chocolate butterflies. They were so much fun and looked so real! In the wind (outdoor wedding) their wings were actually moving and a couple "flew" off the cake while I was setting up. Thanks for looking!

Ajia's Calla Lilies
6-10-14, buttercream icing, fondant swags, gumpaste calla lilies and satin ribbons. Too late I figured out how to make the plates and columns match my ivory icing...cover w/fondant! Duh. I'm starting to get a little emotionally attached to my wedding cakes...it was hard to leave the reception site after set up! Like...NO, it's MINE! LOL!

Turquoise And Brown
One big cake for my friend's 40th! I think it was an 8" & 10" square. I was stumped on what extras to put around the top border of the bottom tier...the swrils and scrolls worked just right. Just don't ask me to pipe Happy Birthday 4 identical times on the sides of a big cake again! LOL--what was I thinking?!

Ribbon Roses
I made this for my husband's grandma's 80th birthday. It was a 6-8-10"...I actually baked & iced it a couple weeks before the party since we were coming in from vacation the night before the party. My friend came over to take it out of the freezer early for me. I had made all the fondant decors before we left so they were dry & ready to just stick on the cake once I had it assembled. All done, an hour drive to transport through a hail storm & it was a hit with 3 different flavors & one happy grandma!

Baby Bear
6" stacked on 9", buttercream w/fondant accents & teddy bear, gumpaste bow. The gal doing the shower wanted blue & brown with a teddy bear so designed this --then saw 'gourmettiger's' super cute cake on here and decided to add the bow and blanket....thanks for the inspiration. This was my first try at the fondant figures & the bow...much fun to do!

Casey's Wedding
6-9-12" Rounds. Cream Cheese Buttercream icing over Dark Chocolate Almond cake filled with Chocolate Hazelnut Mousse. I'm guessing this cake curled some hair with as rich as it was! The florist, who was also the mother-of-the-bride, arranged the fresh flowers...they really made the cake look fabulous! Thanks for looking...wedding cake #2 for me.

Calla Lily Illusion 2
(My first upload of this picture was tooo dark! This is much better!) Thanks to cc'ers Briarview & Lazy_Susan for the design and inspiration. This is my first official paid wedding cake. I'd make a couple changes if I did it again, but overall was pleased w/the result of lots o'work! Buttercream, hand-painted silk callas (they are black, just look a bit purple), satin ribbon. TFL!

Pretty In Pink Baby Bump
First, thanks for inspiration from cc'er "Arty" and others! Psalm 139 is my favorite chapter in the Bible so when I saw "Fearfully and Wonderfully Made" for a shower cake verse, I had to do it! This cake was for my sister's first baby shower. She loved it and I was really pleased with how it turned out. I used "cake ball" mixture to make the boobs and baby bump, then covered them with the fondant dress. Strawberry cake too...gotta have pink! Thanks for looking.
