The cake was covered in a base of white MMF, then a circle of blue layed on top, and snipped it with kitchen scissors freehand. Silver circles are painted in nu silver luster dust. The snowmen are made out of MMF w/ #1 round tip dots of black frosting for the eyes, stiff orange (#3? I think) pulled out for the nose. The arms are toothpicks coated by sticking them all the way in the brown frosting bag & tip #5, then slowly pulling out while squeezing. Made MMF cones to dry, then frosted to look like trees.
So the story here is that a coworker of my mother's was about to celebrate their Christmas time 1st wedding anniversary, but she was very disappointed because evidently the caterer had THROWN AWAY the 6inch tier from her wedding cake! So, since all I knew was that her original cake had poinsettas on it, this is a little 6 inch cake decorated in buttercream with bc poinsetta accents to replace it.
Ok so square pans are definately harder to smooth than round for fondant! This is Italian creme cake with cream cheese frosting covered in MMF & MMF decor. The ribbon is dusted with super pearl luster dust.

Cake for a Hawaii themed birthday party. Strawberry cake w/ buttercream covered in tinted fondant. Flowers and tiki masks made of gumpaste.
Did this for the wake of a friend's relative. Didn't really know much about the deceased other than that she favored the color purple.
White cake (yes I used Duncan Hines this time, no super good white cake scratch recipe for me :P) with buttercream frosting & roses. Silver luster dust painted fondant accent pearls and leaves.
