Forget Me Not, A Loving Memorial Cupcake Cake
This is in memory of somebody who had died. This was 24 cupcakes. I frosted it in white and then added some blue to the top of the frosted cake and blended the blue in with my spatula. The scroll is gum paste that I made the day before. The words are written in edible marker. The flowers are forget-me-nots (pun intended) made of royal icing.

Dump Truck
This dump truck was made in four loaf pans (two cake mixes). The wheels are mini chocolate covered donuts and the dirt is crushed cookies. It started to tilt, and I had to add a wedge under the cake board. Next time I'll level it before frosting. OH, you can't see it; but the license plate in the back says "UR3".

Thompson Wedding Cake
This was my first wedding cake. It's all buttercream. I was afraid to do stacked construction, so I bought Wilton's Crystal Clear Divider Set. I love the spaces between the tiers. It had a "place of honor" at the reception hall near the entrance where everybody saw it. I also attended the wedding as a guest. To my pleasant surprise, the bride or bride's parents had the DJ announce my name and what table I was sitting at and had me stand up!

Librarian Retirement Featuring Olivia
This little character, Olivia, is the cutest little thing! Our children's librarian was retiring to stay home and take care of her grandchildren. They asked me to do her cake and I asked what her favorite character was. I went home with four or five Olivia books and chose the pictures from the books that best fit the librarian. My favorite is the last one with Olivia carrying the stack of books and saying, "Please ... just one more story."
