My friend found this design online somewhere and asked me to make them for her son--wish I could credit someone for the cute design-these were really fun to make!
This is a replica of my son's friend's hockey jersey--first time using an edible image--they're fantastic!!!
Dad's Favorite Things
Whew! This was a labor of love! LOTS of work and there's still more I wish I could've done to it--but I ran out of time! Overall I'm really happy with it. Dad's loves are antique cars, stamp collecting, baseball, bowling, and his church. My personal favorite parts are the back of the car and the stamp album...
Birthday Gift Box
Devil's Food cake with chocolate BC--covered in fondant; fondant bow and turtles. The turtles represent the birthday girl's pets
Let's Go To The Movies Cake
The film reel and the popcorn bucket are vanilla cake covered in BC with fondant accents--the Oscar is a cookie (NFSC), the director's gate is molded from chocolate, and the popcorn is made of mini marshmallows--this was so fun to put together!
10" and 6" tiers devil's food cake with BC--horses are cookies. This design is a variation on a Wilton design from their 1995 yearbook
Baby Shower Cake
I designed this cake to match the invitation--all buttercream with fondant accents. The whale on top is gumpaste, and the other animals are chocolate transfers.
Since I don't have an airbrush, I used Wilton's cans of spray "color mist" to get a tye-dyed effect on the sides. All buttercream except for the fondant flowers and the funky tappit letters
Sports Birthday Cake
For a 1st birthday--cake covered in BC with fondant accents; all the balls and hockey stick are molded from chocolate, the hat is cake, and the stars/pennant are fondant. The cake board is in the shape of home plate.
Hand-Painted Beach Cake
This was for my MIL's 88th birthday. My SIL is a very talented artist, so we collaborated on her mom's cake. First we bought the cute little chairs at a dollhouse store, then she used the yellow color to inspire a beachy-sailboat design and she painted the whole thing. Then I finished it up with some graham-cracker sand, and chocolate and fondant accents, and a tiny gumpaste NY Times crossword puzzle which is placed on one of the chairs. We had so much fun plus I THINK I've got my SIL hooked on cake-painting!
Black And White Swirls
10" 8" and 6" tiers covered in fondant with gumpaste gerbera daisies and a couple of hydrangeas to match the flowers on he table at the party
Paisley Beach Bake
This was the first time I got to use my paisley pans--I love them! I got inspiration for this cake from a photo in a recent Ices publication--so I started with making the flip flops and the hibiscus-type flowers/leaves and then just kept going with graham cracker sand the white chocolate shells until I liked it...
Mad Hatter Cake
My original plan was to cover this cake in fondant--but it's a tall, strange shape and my fondant wasn't cooperating...so after 3 attempts--I gave up and used buttercream and then just smoothed my little heart out...I'm pleased with how Plan B worked. The brim is fondant with a LOT of tylose added...
These were designed to match the tee shirts that were given out at our friend's BatMitzvah--first time I've ever made 150 cookies at once! HUGE job! As usual I used NFSC and Antonia 74 icing--match made in heaven!!
Cheerleading And Baseball Birthday
This was for a double birthday: brother and sister--baseball player and cheerleader.
Fairy Baby Shower
10" and 6" tiers with gumpaste fairies and flowers. The butterflies are made in royal icing piped onto netting--this was the first time I made those--they were fun! Thanks to lots of different CCers for the inspiration on this one!
Wwe Wrestling Cake
8" square cake for a little wrestling fan. Letters are made out of chocolate, posts abdWWE sign are fondant, and I used red yarn for the ropes.
