Taylormade Golf Bag
Groom's golf bag, along with his sentimental bulldog club cover. Fondant covered with some gumpaste work.
Groom's cake for a high school basketball coach. Buttercream with some fondant accents; fondant covered cap and ring for the net; gumpaste whistle. I did RKT for the bottom 1/2 of the basketball so it'd be sturdier; it worked great! The bride was ecstatic about it!
Black And White
7 tiers delivered 55 miles and it was nerve wracking! Buttercream with black piping and fondant ribbons. A fondant bow on the center tier, fresh yellow roses. One of my favorite cakes of this year, maybe ever! Thanks for looking!
Giraffe Baby Shower
Choc cake with Choc BC; fondant diamonds and buttons, satin ribbons. Gumpaste stuffed giraffe topper for the mom to go with her nursery theme.
Matched to the party decorations ordered from FirstWishes.com; I threw in the pillow cause I hadn't had the chance to make one yet. It was used as her smash cake. Gumpaste tiara, floating hearts, and "M", BC finish.
Birthday for a 4 year old who likes scary things...it was a little too scary for me considering his age but it was a lot of fun to do! This is nothing like my usual work so that was cool! BC finish with 1/2 fondant/gumpaste zombie hands, gummy worms, purchased the skeleton.
My tallest cake to-date with the separated tiers. The humidity did a number on my swags and they actually did slide down some on the bottom tier because of so much moisture. In the end though the bride was very happy-mission accomplished :)
On The Range
My first 3D animal!! Glad that's over! For a groom who works with cattle; these were a recreation of one of his own that just had her baby. Details included the face coloration, their ear tags, and brands on the right hips. Mama is RKT body, solid gumpaste over dowels for the calf.
A Formal Occasion
I anticipated this cake for so long & it's finally done! I designed it completely for the bride, who wanted something very elegant. She loved the sketch & she was ecstatic over the cake. BC with fondant lace, fondant swag, gumpaste buckle made to match her monogram.
Chocolate And Ivory
My sister's wedding cake we spent a year planning and tweaking. Gumpaste topper, fondant bow and flowers, styrofoam insert where the couple sits. Delivered already stacked and worked like a charm!
Designed and made for my sister's bridal shower; I love having complete creative reign to try something different, so I did ruffles and used my lace molds again (love those things!).
A fun bride who wanted formal and fun; BC with fondant accents, gumpaste bow and topper. So fun to do and she was ecstatic about it!
Peach And Yellow Wedding
I'd done another version of this cake last summer but I love these colors. Synthetic flowers on buttercream, satin ribbons.
Firemen Groom's Cake
The most fun I've had on a cake in a long time! This was 2 4in tall 8in squares stacked, then a 4in tall 6in square. BC finish with brick impression mat, BC flames, lollipop stick ladder, plastic firemen I ordered from country kitchen sweet art.
Another 3D cake....have to admit I'm glad there's no automobiles on my books right now! This is my 4th though and my practice has paid off; this one looked way better than my first which was a jeep. Chocolate cake, fondant and gumpaste finish, rice krispie reat tires.
1949 Chevy Firetruck
Choc cake with fondant/gumpaste finish. My 3rd 3D automobile and I have another one next week; they're so stressful but they seem to be getting more popular.
Snow Shower Wedding
I finally got to do a winter wedding cake! I loved the colors. BC with RI snowflakes painted with LD. I painted some LD over the BC piping too. Bulbs provided by the bride.
Ladybug Baby Shower
To match the nursery. BC with impression mat, fondant ribbon & bow, Chocolate crib from a mold (not that easy to do!), gumpaste blanket. It was tedious with piping on the ladybugs but I loved the end result.
Chocolate 80Th Birthday
Chocolate cake with Chcolate BC; I was nervous to do a whole cake with chocolate BC but it worked great and the client was extremely pleased. I used a stencil for the design; it worked great, so I'm definitely getting more stencils!
Black & White
Just about everyone's seen this cake design from David's Bridal making the rounds, so I got a turn at it too. Made a stencil for the scroll pattern so it'd go quicker.
BC with synthetic flowers; I liked the romantic feel of it, I'd only done the cascade thing with RI flowers till now. This was funner and easier!
Had to learn swags cause I had two wedding cakes in one weekend with them on it. This was the second cake, and these swags came out much better than the first one. I mixed MMF/gumpaste which worked fantastically. Otherwise BC, synthetic flowers.
Golden 50Th Anniversary
Loved doing this cake, finally getting the hang of freehand scrollwork so it dosn't take a day by itself! They wanted an antique feel to go with the celebrations theme. Fondant ribbon & flowers, gumpaste 50. This was the main cake to go with the 55 Chevy Bel Air I posted.

1955 Chevy Bel Air
Surprise from the kids for a couple celebrating their 50th anniversary. The husband owns a restored identical car, which is what they drove the day they got married. Thought it was such a sweet idea. You can see how I made it on my myspace album; my URL is myspace.com/hbanmancakes
