All covered in Homemade Dark Chocolate Candy Clay. Smoke coming from chimney is Royal icing. Had my boys holding a blow drier to it for 30 minutes so it would dry in time. Yikes

Cookies For First Communion
Made these cookies to go along with Briget and Michaels cakes. This is only the second time doing royal iced sugar cookies but I think they turned out pretty well. My 18 month old sure liked the taste of about half of what was supposed to go to the customer. Man he is a garbage disposal!

Ding Dong Tiara Cake For Mothers Day Tea At School
Made this for my son's class. They had a mother's Day tea. I orriginally wanted to make cupcakes with a Tiara on top for each mother but 7 cakes to do in one week by myself, 2 dozen cookies and then making all the tiara's was virtually impossible unless I totally neglected my 3 kids for the week so I did 5 tiaras and just did this. Hope you like it! Tiara's are my own designs.

Michael's First Communion Cake
This was a last minute cake. Chocolate cake with caramel filling, milk chocolate BC, and homemade chocolate rolled fondant (first time making it, I think I screwed up somehow, it looks like cracked leather to me) The only info I was given on the recipiant was that he liked yellow and was (a gentle soul)? But they reallllly liked the cake. That is what matters, right?

Striped Chocolate Wrap Gone Bad...yet Good
I tried to do the striped chocolate wrap that was just recently put on the forum here, well my chocolate was cooling WAY too fast and I couldn't wrap it around the cake (cold BC might have been part of the problem too) anyways I just switched it to tiles instead. All of the flowers are made with homemade candy clay. 6 inch cake on bottom, biscuit cutter cake on top.

Time Progression Cake
The cake with my peeps is FINALLY done. It was a nightmare. Customer wanted this cake because she was getting her marriage confirmed by the catholic church. We decided to do a kind of "this is your life" theme to the cake. All the parts of their life that are on the cake are on the following photos. When I was putting this together, The girls arm fell of twice, the guys arm fell off once and her nose fell off.

James And The Giant Peach Cake
My son David wanted me to make him a cake for a book report that he was doing, I told him to pick out his favorite scene and we would work on it. Originally it was the Aunts being squished which would have been MUCH easier, but then he got his heart set on the peach landing on the Empire state Building. Man was that a challenge, got it to the school ok and ran before I could see anything happen to it....curious 4th graders, falls, droops, cracks...etc. Pretty proud still.

First Royal Icing Cookies
These are the first royal icing cookies I have ever done. My white royal icing was too thick. Better ones coming once my son takes his nap. I have to make 12 dozen of these for a school function. Good thing I love decorating. I wouldn't have had the courage to try if it hadn't been for you guys. Used the no fail sugar cooke recipe. It is true. Ya can't fail!
