First Birthday
This was the hardest cake I've ever done. The weird little monkey guy on top fell apart when I got it to the customer's house. Unfortunately she wasn't wildly impressed, which is why I always blurt out my disclaimer first thing - I sure as heck don't guarantee beauty or perfection! And I sure didn't deliver it this time!

Cinderella's Got Some Problems!
Especially her weight! Dang doll arms got in my way too....this was my first doll cake. But I think our niece will love it. As I took a closer look at the picture I noticed gaps that I'll need to fill in as well. Hopefully next time she'll look like she's been busy burning calories cleaning house instead spending all her free time eating bonbons on the couch. Oh yeah - thanks for tips about switching the pick doll head with Barbie's - I never would have thought of that.

Thanks For Your Kindness
This is for neighbors of my parents after they cleared their driveway for them following a blizzard. It was supposed to be amaretto cherry with almond buttercream but I realized I was out of white cake mix and was too lazy to go buy more, so I used chocolate cake instead. I hope that's not too weird a combination.

Another Valentine Cake
Tiramisu-flavored cake (which mean coffee ice cream instead of oil) with pink fondant and white fondant roses with buttercream ruffle. This was a mess to try to get out of the pan even though I greased it. I'm surprise it even turned out this well. And again, my icing kept breaking while I wrote the message.

Another Copied Poinsettia Cake
I also ripped this idea off a few I saw posted on Cake Central. Everything is buttercream, as I'm far too lazy to screw around with royal icing. And since we obviously can't mention Jesus at work at Christmas time, I tried to make it "Jesus lite". I guess if you can't rejoice in Jesus' birth, you can at least rejoice that you're getting cake.

Becki & Jason's Cake
This is my first wedding cake for an actual wedding. I tried to copy one I saw a long time ago on CC called Neela. Unfortunately I ran out of peach flowers, so I filled in the spaces with white and another peachy color. It's Kahlua cake with coffee buttercream filling, under fondant.

Another Bountiful Centerpiece Cake
This cake was a nightmare to do, obviously. My problems started when my torting attempt ended up diagonally through the cake. Then I had problems with my handwriting. My great hope is that no one at the church potluck tomorrow gets sick. It is cream cheese icing and it has taken me a heck of a long time to get this dang cake done. There will be candles in it tomorrow.

Carol's Birthday
This is for my wonderful mother-in-law's birthday - a milestone. Unfortunately this is not my best work by any stretch, but I think she'll like it. Dark chocolate cake with chocolate fudge frosting for filling. The frame part of the design is coffee buttercream - which was also wonderful with kahlua cake!

Dinner Party 2006
Okay I must confess I completely ripped this idea off from someone else, but I thought it was a great idea so thanks whoever you are. I also added some decorations around the side. Despite its appearance, this is not for a wedding. It's for my parents' dinner party tomorrow night - a bit femme for just a dinner, but I think they'll like it.
