Birthday cake for a lady who loves Badgers.
This cake was a challenge. I had the order for it at 9am to be collected by 4pm. Cake was in the oven by 9.30 cooling at 12 and finished at 3.45pm :o)
A simple but effective cake.
Black roses and middle tier with plenty of sparkle dusted over the cake Unforunately the camera didn't pick up much of the sparkle.
Flowers are handmade and in the middle is a synthetic ruby stone.
I have a cardboard star template that I use to cut this cake.
The picture i the middle is an edible image with a photo of the birthday boy added.
Everything you see is made freehand from sugar.
This cake is simple in design. Just by setting each tier at different angles and adding 2 colours of ribbon give this cake a sophisticat look.
The bottom tier is a round cake and the top is a Hexagon shape.
The flowers are Freesias and a rose. The side pattern was made by using the Patchwork Cutters Diamond cutter. The cake was dusted with a sparkly dust which you can't see very well.
I used the Wilton T Shirt tin for this cake but you can get the same efect by using a square tin and carving the shape.
This Tinkerbell was made by cutting out a drawing on paper then cutting the various sections out in the different colours of sugarpaste and building the model up to the desired effect.
Loved making the models on this one.
This cake was ordered a week before the weding ... No pressure!!
