Graduation And Mother's Day
I made this cake for my brother you got his Master's Degree and my mom for Mother's Day. We don't eat a lot of cake in the family, and the occasions fell a day apart, so I made a joint cake. Came out pretty well, I think. "Topper" and writing are all chocolate, everything else is whipped topping. There's also a picture in my album of the side view, if you're curious.

Baby Buttons
Baby shower cake with fondant accents. The bow is fondant and put together with candy melts, and the buttons were all handmade with fondant. Dusted with pearl luster dust. The invites had buttons, as well as the table confetti, so it was fun to match the cake with everything. Thanks to everyone who told me how to make the buttons!

Chocolate And Purple
chocolate cake with coconut and raspberry filling (I just make 'em folks :) )and chocolate ganache on top. Bride's colors were dark purple and red, hence the decor. SHe had these really cool curly "plants" in her bouquets, and you can see some on the cake, that matched really well with the scroll work. Not my favorite color combo, but my favorite design.

Love Scroll
Yellow cake with IMBC and freehand scroll work. Her flowers were cool because they had little gold bead accents coming out of them, and the tips of the rose petals and the leaves were painted gold. I had a long talk with the bride and florist about food safety, but after signing a waiver, I put them on the cake. I thought it looked cool, but I would be a little weary about eating the top tier.

Cake That I Hate
This was the worst cake I have ever done. It was supposed to replicate a martha stewart ruffles and pleats cake, and I think I did a horrible job. I didn't get any complaints, but I went home that day feeling horrible. I couldn't get the pleats to look right or stay straight and the ruffle was giving me a hard time. Again, I know we're our worst critics, but I can't stand this cake. Just thought I would share, so if you have any tips on what I could have done differently, please feel free to share.
