I did this for a baby shower fund raiser. (Thanks to Cakery for her wonderful cakes, that's where the idea came from!) A local home called Heart of Hope. A home for young, unmarried pregnant girls.
I entered this cake in my 1st cake competition ever! It was called 2010 Icing on the Cake. Here in Shreveport/Bossier. Held by the S'port Quota Club. I entered in the Professional Division under the Sweet Louisiana Theme. My cake won 2nd place!!!! And to make it even sweeter, my cake was picked for People's Choice in my division!!!!!! If you are wondering what the cake means... It's a sewing basket & someone is making things for Saint's & LSU fans!!!

My daughter's 2nd baby shower. I love JaneK version of this. I was able to pick the theme for the baby shower & this is the cake I picked! There was another cake I got ideas from & can't remember the artist. So sorry. Thanks for the inspiration, everyone who did duck cakes. This cake was so fun to do! I loved doing the wood.

This cake goes with the one with the flag. My DH wanted me to make a funny one to go along with the serious AF one. It was funny! It took too long for me to mold that guy. I'm not a sculpter that's for sure! Someone asked the guest of honor how he got a "Duff cake". I was honored when I heard that!!
For a friend of ours. My 1st flag cake. The red/white on the flag came out fine but the blue w/ stars was horrible. Thank goodness no one noticed but me, the camera didn't even notice! LOL!
The ever popular pink & purple girlie cake! I love doing these type cakes & I love making gumpaste bows! Faith has been wanting one of my "wedding cakes" for awhile now. Her Mommy said I'd make her one just not so big :-) What a sweetie!

Back in 2008 CenterpieceSweets did a tutorial on hibiscus. Well I've been wanting to try them ever since but never had time. I saved the post in my favorite files on my computer. I finally had a chance to play! I uploaded this pic so she could see what a great teacher she is :-) Thanks a bunch CenterpieceSweets! Great tutorial!
This cake was for my cousin. She wanted a stucco finish on her cake instead of smooth. I never thought it would be hard to do but it was! I'm so used to smoothing the icing. It took me awhile but I think it turned out pretty. She loved it!
Yummy, yummy chocolate cake! I showed my son's GF Callie how to do the camo & she did a very good job for the 1st time. She's going to be a great decorator~
White chocolate fleur de lis, white cake, strawberry filling, white bci~ The dried roses around the bottom of the cake were roses that the groom had given the bride during their courtship. The bride wanted them put there as a symbol of their love. I thought that was sweet.
At 1st, I didn't like the flowers for this cake but I think it really turned out pretty. Bride said it was exactly how she pictured it! That's always wonderful to hear! (6", 9", 12" covered in fondant with chocolate & white layers)

This was for my cousin Michael & his bride. This is my 1st square wedding cake. It really stressed me out but I think I pulled it off pretty good. I did not do the gumpaste lilies (wish I could do them that good). Sizes 6", 9", 12"
This is another cake I helped my friend Bev do. She did the bottom layer & I did the 2 top ones. There was still another layer to this cake. It was so late after we did 4 wedding cakes this day that I had to leave before we finished the cake :-( I just wanted to show the piping. I'm starting to enjoy piping! Thanks to Norm Davis & his great teaching at ICES this year!
I saw this on CC (the artist was albumangel, thank you for your inspiration!) & knew my Dad would love it! He did!!
My friend Bev has a cake shop & I help her when she's got a lot of orders. We did this one together. I like everything but the flowers. Bride could have picked prettier flowers.
