Lime Green, Purple And Pearl.
Gumpaste hydrangeas, hand dusted with 4 or 5 different colors (variety-some with four, some with five), gumpaste topper, details in modeling chocolate and a new (or something I just made up) technique and recipe for the wrap around the cake. The white details were painted with pearl. Purple and lime green accents on the cake. The purple matched the purple linens on the tables perfectly!

Argh, Matey!!!
Rainbow pirate ship, inspired by a cartoon version of a ship and another cake design on Flickr. The cake is all edible except for the dowels used for the mast. The sails are rice paper. The railings and ladders are all piped royal icing. The figurines are 100% fondant. Rainbow cake with signature icing. Inspired by a cartoon ship and Studio Cake's pirate ship cakes.

Tie Dye Wedding Cake
This little guy was made to look like the groom's shirt he wears while playing in his band. It's a blue tie dye color. The butterflies at the top represent the couple and each of the other seven butterflies represent the couple's children. Butterflies are rice paper and royal icing. The cake is a tie-dye, ROYGBIV bonanza! Yes, you slice into the cake and it's multi-colored. I loved making this non-traditional wedding cake--so different and fun!

Yue Lao God Of Marriage
My favorite wedding cake thus far! The groom and I worked together to come up with this original cake design. His wife is from Thailand and he is an American. They met in China when they became each others' respective language tutor. There is a folktale, or belief in the Man in the Moon, or Yue Lao, the God of Marriage and the Red String of Fate. Yue Loa ties an invisable red string around the ankle of a man and a women who are destined to marry. This cake tells that story. The bride loves to dance and has a daughter who loves to paint. The groom is paddling over to China in order to learn a new culture, not realizing at the time he was following the Red String of Fate. Everything is hand sculpted. Waves are royal icing brushed and colored. This picture is of the cake not complete--we added more sand at the venue--see the next picture for it as completed.
