Mary Engelbreit Inspired Cake
This is a 4" stacked on a 7" iced in buttercream with fondant flowers. The crown is gumpaste (got the pattern from the ME website). The checkerboard pattern is airbrushed onto the buttercream (not as hard as I thought, but had some small overspray issues on one side. Cake was for a customer celebrating her mom & sister's birthdays, so the other side says "Princess of Quite Alot" on rice paper image to balance out the "Queen of Everything"logo on the front side. Sides of cake have cherry decor.

Pirate Cupcakes
Here is my take on Pirate cupcakes made by mysonshines, who got the idea from another cc'er! Isn't it great how we all inspire each other around here? I tried to change them up a bit by adding and changing hair, used some different colors and did a tip 104 for the loose ends of the bandanas. My daughter's preschool friends just loved them. Thanks to everyone who has done pirate cupcakes!!!

Gobble., Gobble, Gobble
Another cake from this weekend. I actually did two of these. This one is chocolate buttercream with red and orange regular buttercream on a 8" yellow cake. The idea is from a set of cupcakes I saw in Mailbox News last year. I made the cupcakes and thought I could do the same this year on a bigger scale. Fun to do!

Fondant Elephant
This little guy was fun to make and a lot easier than I thought it would be. I loosely followed the directions from Kate Sullivan book. He was for the top of a ball cake for a circus themed cake (another idea from Kate) that I will post later. I actually think he came out better than the whole darn cake! Oh well...I'll keep trying!!!

Aj Hawk Jersey
Back of AJ Hawk's Green Bay Packers jersey for a 4 year old boy. Cake is half choc and half white cake, but the white cake was colored pink per the little guys request. Icing is B/C with fondant accents. The fondant block of cheese was my poor attempt at humor since the fans are called "cheese heads". The Birthday boy also requested a pink butterfly on each shoulder. I complied, but took a picture first- I don't want any NFL players knocking on my door over pink butterflies! LOL!

Anna's Gift Box Cake
This is my first attempt at a gift box cake. The mom said all she wanted was pink and purple, chocolate cake and can ya make it look like a present? The lid, bow, gift tag and tissue paper are all fondant. I dusted the edges of the tissue paper with pink luster dust and airbrushed Super Pearl on the bow, lid and tag. Icing and scrolls are all B/C...oh yeah...first time attempting scrolls too.

Glamour Girl Make-Up Bag
This is glam bag for another little girl. Cut and stacked 9x13 with tie dyed batter. Iced in BC with fondant decorations. They didn't want edible pearls, so I used some fondant flowers and piped #3 bc dots. All items in the bag and the lips are candy melts I colored myself with icing gel. Third time for this cake, so I am getting a little faster at it (thank goodness!)

Froggy 1St Birthday
Based on design from another cc'er. Loved the frogs and they were so easy to make. The party theme was frogs and pink...just like the child's nursery. Made a coordinating smash cake with tiny chocolate molded green frogs too. Cake is iced in BC with fondant accents. Number is made from gumpaste. Name and bows are fondant.

Ghost
3D ghost made with one layer of Banana Cream Dream cake and three layers of Chocolate Mocha Liqueur cake. BC icing covered in a "sheet" of fondant. Gumpaste chain airbrushed with silver luster dust. Can't see the puple pearl dust accents in this picture, but looked really cool and irredescent with the purple lights! Suspended a bowl with dry ice in the stand for fog around cake. Really spooky looking with all the ambiance at the party. Toughest cake ever to transport without breaking! Thanks for looking.

The Man With The Yellow Hat
This is a cake I did this weekend for a Curious George themed party. I wanted something a little different and love to do 3D stuff, so this is what I came up with. The brim of the hat is gumpaste. Cake is iced in all white B/C. Cake & brim were airbrushed with yellow at the same time (to get the color consistant). The band is black fondant. Drum is 20" diameter and cake stood ~ 16" tall. Fun and easy cake! Did you know they gave the man with the yellow hat a name in the latest movie? Blasphemy!!!!

Pittsburgh Steeler Cake
This cake was for a man turning 40, which is why the cake is laying on the 40 yard line. The wife requested a logo in the design and I added the Terrible Towel (The original without the writing!) for fun- since I'm originally from PA. The cake was just chocolate with B/C icing. The logo and towel were fondant. Royal icing fringe on the towel. Logo done with pin prick and edible markers

Pink And Brown Flower Cake
This cake is my first time using Satin Ice fondant...LOVE IT!!! Cake is chocolate for a 5 yr old birthday who specified only "flowers" for her cake. I have always wanted to do a pink/brown combo. When I delivered it to their public venue a woman stopped me and said it looked like a TV cake! Now, I can't hold a candle to Duff, but I was flattered. First time layering fondant so this cake was kind of an experiment. They are 5" and 8" single layer bc they didn't need a ton of cake.

Zoe's Princess Cake
Butter cake, white choc. truffle and raspberry fillings. Iced all in BC. Gumpaste crown, bow and name plate. Fondant flowers (everyone seems to want fondant ribbon roses lately). Dragees too. I made the crown using a playdough toy (that I use strictly for cakes). I wanted to put tassels on each corner as well, but when I was trying to finish up this cake (2 am) I broke my garlic press while trying to push gumpaste through it. Princesses are obviously toys.

Glamour Girl Make-Up Bag
This is a Boween "knock-off" cosmetic bag- thanks Connie for the design. BC frosting, fondant accents, edible pearls, fondant letters. The batter was done witha tye-died effect, so when they cut it- it was all different colors inside- especially neat since this was made from a 9 x 13. All the cosmetics were chocolate.

Cowboy Cake
Butter cake with both white choc. truffle and rasp. filling. BC icing. All other decorations are fondant. Bandana is detailed with white royal icing and black food markers. Belt buckle was made in a silicone mold I made. There are round fondant decorations around the back of the belt as well. Wish I would have placed the 2nd horseshoe where it would have photographed better. Idea to do belt came from a wedding cake in ACD email (ICES show cake). Name is spelled with "rope".

Elmo
This is a take off of a Wilton cake that client saw in the yearbook. Cake is chocolate with BC icing. Fondant stars, circles and letters. They are colored with edible markers to look like the way Elmo (or a young child) colors. This one was simple, but fun- it was the last of three cakes this weekend! (11 x15 sheet)

Dump Truck
Here is one of three cakes I did this past weekend (I will post the other two soon). This was a choc. cake w/cookies & cream filling. BC icing for most, RI grill, wiper blades, door handles & wheels painted w/silver luster. Luster accents on BC headlights. MMF signs and license plates (front and back). Dragees around plates and on donut wheels for some added "Bling, Bling!". Boy's name was Max and obviously turning TWO...thus TWO the MAX trucking. Thanks to fellow CC'ers for their input on the base!!

First topsy turvy and only 2nd attempt at a fondant covered cake- this time with MMF. One chocolate and one white cake with BC icing. Flowers and pearls all hand rolled. The 1st and 3rd tiers are styrofoam dummies covered in BC and fondant...wow...1st time for dummies too....gosh..what was I thinking with this cake...too many firsts!!! YIKES!! Cake drum covered in fondant and painted with luster dust like the actual cakes.

Jimmy Buffet Margarita Cake
Here is the finished cake. I posted a pic of just the parrot earlier. The cake is a strawberry margaita cake and strawberry buttercream (both cake and icing had margarita mix and Jose Cuervo). Stir stick is a pretzel rod with fondant palms. Sand is crushed Nilla wafers, jelly bean "rocks", pop tops are fondant (get it? "Stepped on a pop top and blew out my flip-flop"), cheeseburger and sea shells are fondant, cake sparkles on rim for the salt and a handful of dragees for color.

Payge Castle Cake
It must be the summer of Princesses! This is a smaller version of my first castle cake (all my own design). This one was only a 10" base cake, but we added a 6" vegan cake for the little girl's cousin so she didn't feel left out. The vegan cake has charm pulls for every little person at the party as well as a fondant crown colored with lustre dust.

Bridal Shower Cake
I made this cake for a bridal shower recently after seeing a picture posted by Antonia74. I tried to change it up a little bit with the flower, sparkle dust, and the bodice of the cake. It is half choc/half white sheet cake that is filled and iced with buttercream. The ribbons extending from the bottom are charm pulls for all the bridesmaids and flower girl. Cut from a 12 X 18 tracing a heart shaped cake pan for the bodice. Thanks for the inspiration Antonia74.

Watermelon Cookies
My friend and I decorated these cookies in honor of National Watermelon Day (we were having an event with our kids). Too lazy to make royal icing or anything else, so we just airbrushed them! Seeds are black BC. I am getting some practice with cookies in ever since I found out there is a cookie club! And guys...I need practice!!!
