3,...2,..1,.. Ignition, ... We Are Go For Space Shuttle Birthday Cake!
Space Shuttle cake. Packed RKT rockets, fuel tank, and space shuttle covered in MMF details. Each shuttle component was hand sculpted after using PVC pipe to compact the RKT into a tubular shape while cinching a dowel in the center. Allowed RKT to airdry to stiffen as much as possible prior to carving and covering. There is a central PVC and support platform system to support the shuttle 1/2in above the top tier allowing full access to the cake without having to move/remove the shuttle. 2 cake tiers are BCF with fondant and BCF details.

Water Fight Minion Style!
This idea came straight from the birthday child "can you do a Minion water fight scene on a cake?" The Minions came to be as I shortened and then dipped Twinkies (With the sweetest comeback ever) in candy melt using cakepop dipping technique. The cake has straws inserted for each Minion to provide "clean" pop sticks for consumption like a cakepop. Decorative details made with MMF. The pool, puddles, and drippy name are poured and set candy melt, the dive ladder is a wooden skewer structure wrapped in chocolate fondant and mounted securely in the custom cut cakeboard for transporting fully constructed.

Road To Retirement
My Dad retired so we captured his road to retirement in buttercream icing and MMF details. I assembled this cake on location traveling with the details, some extra fondant, and un-iced cake. The B&J carton, was a real paper one (this time) that I repurposed. Many thanks to the past employers (those still in business and many that were no longer in business) having excellent past owner's that provided me with their company logos form wherever they could scrounge and rummage them up.

Giant Gumball Machine With Spiral
Gumball Machine with illuminated spiral. Lid, spiral background and red "base" are cake. The glass globe is removable and from a craftstore with the small size gumballs (I used an 8in globe and used royal to affix an inverted 4.5in globe to displace some of the gumball volume. I also hid a secret in the inner globe for later reveal as the gumballs get consumed! Structure is a centralized PVC pipe with fittings secured to wood base (silver base), with an interim platform (red) above the base cake serving as the bottom of the spiral, and another as the top support platform(red) for the spiral and to take the weight of the globe. The cake could be cut as assembled(less the globe) and be transported 1+ hours. Clear 7/8in vinyl pipe has a 20LED battery powered light string and uses 3/4in copper fittings to affix the removable spiral to the support plates below and above the spiral section. This cake is just over 2 feet tall.
