"rutabaga" Cake
Made for a surprise wedding for close family friends, and the code word was "rutabaga". A very last minute cake; found out about it on Wednesday afternoon and the wedding was Friday evening. Best part of this cake, is the BTB (who was being surprised) watched me make this cake, the whole time thinking it was a birthday cake for her and my Mom! A 8" & 6" iced in SMBC. Thanks to Nunuk for her beautiful design that I flat-out copied. It is a beautiful, simple cake. I can only hope I did it justice. TFL!

Viva La Red Bull!!
My first Wedding Cake, & the subject of the "Curse of the 1st Wedding Cake" thread in the disaster forum. So stressful, but I am overjoyed with how it turned out! 6" & 8" squares, covered in fondant. RI brushed embroidery on the bottom and quiting with lilac sugar pearls on top tier and board. Fabric ribbon and more sugar pearls along borders. TFL!!

Camp Rock Birthday Cake
Done for my niece. I'd never even heard of Camp Rock! Had to search the net for images to use as inspiration! 12" & 8" covered in fondant. Decorations are fondant with Tylose kneaded in. Didn't have a chance go get edible images, so plaques are regular old printouts. I love the little microphones, they're my favorite part! Brain gave out briefly, and I cut the cake board waaaay to small, but didn't have enough time to make another one. Oopsie! Good thing it was a gift! Birthday girl loved it! TFL

Bionicle Cake, Designed By A 7 Year Old.
My son's b-day cake. His design, down to the red RI "spikes". 6" rounds stacked in a pyramid. He placed the Bionicles where he wanted them. They are not attached, so when we moved to cake outside, he had to re-set them up. It was so cute to see him so serious and concentrating on where each one would look best!

Large Castle
12" square, 8" square and two 6" rounds for the center tower. Turrets are fondant covered acetate rolls. All fondant (first and possibly last time using Choco-Pan, too darn soft!) using an impression mat for the brick pattern, RI ivy, and blue piping gel over foil for the moat. Aztec Gold Luster Dust for the tower roof. Thanks for looking

For my sister's birthday. Two 6" rounds stacked and covered in fondant. GP flowers, collar, fan, and umbrella. Hand painted flowers on umbrella, and pattern on obi belt & bow. Butterflies hand painted in NuSilver. Rice Krispy sandals covered in fondant. Flowers in hanging "hair piece" on string with GP beads. TFL!

Winter Princess Castle
Made for DD's 3rd Birthday. Bottom tier is a dummy. Covered in fondant with a brick pattern, stairs are RKT, and castle topper is gumpaste, all airbrushed blue (I wanted a lighter blue color, but DH wanted to help, what can you do?) then airbrushed with Super Pearl. Snow is RI painted with White Sparkle dust. Windows are sugar cookies with crushed Jolly Ranchers melted for a stained glass look, decorated with RI. Bottom trees and drawbridge are also gumpaste. Another great learning experience. TFL

Ri Icing Princess Carriage
Carriage that will be part of DD's Princess Castle cake. All RI. Made using a technique I saw Michelle Bommarito (sp) use on the Food Network Christmas Cake Challenge; piping RI on an inflated balloon, then deflating the balloon once it was dry. It's a little crooked since the balloon started deflating a little before I was done. Dusted with NuSilver & Aztec Gold Luster Dusts mixed with Super Pearl. TFL!

Fall Harvest Basket
I've been seeing cakes like this here lately, and I wanted to try one. Fondant on cake & cake board, NFSC w/ RI leaf & acorn cookies, and apples are mini-cakes: Candy Melts molded then filled w/ Vanilla Caramel BC, & Vanilla Cinnamon cake with Cinnamon Apple Filling. Gave to some of DH's cusomers who loved it and ate EVERYTHING! :) TFL!

The Second Birthday Cake
I loved this cake, and I am so sad I didn't get a real good picture of it! This is the only decent one, & it looks crooked! The 12" bottom box & 8" cupcake are fake, with rice krispies to shape the "paper" and cupcake top. Middle 10" is Orange Butter cake w/ Orange SMBC. Fondant all over w/ RI decos on the bottom box. Thank You to SugarFrostedCakes for the inspiration. TFL!

First 1St Birthday Cake.
8" Orange Butter Cake w/ Orange Mousse and 12" Chocolate Butter Cake with Cookies & Cream. Since we planned on taking the kids out of town to my parents & having the birthday party up there, I only planned on making the 8" for a little family dinner this past Wednesday. DH kept inviting more and more people, so the small Wed night dinner became a big Satuday party, and the cake got bigger too. Lucky little birthday girl is gonna get another cake next weekend!

Chocolate Wrap Birthday Cake
I made this last minute (decided on Tuesday, for Friday) birthday cake for my MIL. 6" & 8" rounds in German Chocolate. I wanted to do something nicer than the traditional coconut pecan and chocolate icings, so I decided to give the chocolate wrap a try. It was so easy, and my family was totally facinated by it. Thank you ShirleyW & Stephanie for posting the "How To". The roses are fondant. TFL!

Brushed Embroidery Practice Cake
This was a cake of experiments; I wanted to try the brushed embroidery technique, try out SMBC, and make my own non-MMF fondant. I used Elisa Strauss' recipes from the Confetti Cakes book for the SMBC and fondant. Cake is WASC with raspberry & white chocolate ganache fillng. Going to give this to one of DH's customers, and I'm a little nervous since I've only made cakes for family. TFL!
