Made for my Grandma's 80th birthday. I'm from dry El Paso, so the humidity of Dallas threw me for a loop! I'm not that good at writing (either in pen or icing, lol) but I literally had to do the border and writing in two minutes as we flew out the hotel room door (yes, I made it in a hotel room) cause my Dad was complaining about us spending all our time there, lol. So it's not the prettiest piping, but it made my Grandma happy, and that was why I did it.
For my sis years ago. White cake, chocolate icing from a can (hey, I didn't know any better back then!), choc frost w/ chopped marachino cherries mixed in for the filling, tube icing, black gel, and more marachino cherries for decorations.
This was my favorite of the bunch. Just thought it was so pretty.
Not the best out there, but not too bad for being decorated in under 5 minutes. NFSC w/ Antonia's icing.

Made this for Teacher's Appreciation Week. Pencil, apple, ruler, book, and paper are airbrushed/painted fondant.
My Dad & DH's birthdays are 6 days apart, and I had to find a way to combine their individual interests and favorite cake flavors into one cake. This is what I came up with; the top (for Dad) is Carrot Cake with Cream Cheese icing, with fondant green, golf balls, putter and flag, the bottom (for DH) is yellow cake w/ chocolate frosting and the chess board and pieces are candy melts in Minnesota Vikings Colors.
I made this in 2003 for my husband; he has his own pool building company, and, at the time, had just started using a new(er) form of decorative cement covering, which I mimicked with candy melts. The stones are candy melts as well. The "pool" is a 11x15 and the "spa" is the small petal pan. I believe all icing is store bought.
Butterflies are RI, everthing else is fondant.
Giant chocolate chip cookie, wit BC rosettes and lettering. NM State logo & dancer figures are done in candy melts, using the FBCT method.
Choclate & vanilla BC, with white & purple candy melts & chocolate butterflies, sprinkled with purple cake sparkles. Chinese around the side says "Happy Birthday", according to the website I found it on.
Chocolate BC w/ royal icing flowers. I wanted to make a chocolate fondant handle, but it broke. Has the mini eggs in the middle, and around the base. Tinted coconut green for the grassy base.

For my son's 2nd bday. Unfortunately I live in El Paso, and my son's bday is in June, which means cakes & frostings melt easily & quickly. I do believe it was over 100 degrees that day. The Jolly Ranchers I used for lights were melting as well.
Cupcakes w/ BC frosting, and candy melt 3's as well as "Happy Birthday" in the Wiggle Colors of red, purple, yellow, and blue. Also has the cupcake pics and car from the Wiggles cake kit.
For my son's 5th birthday. The mask is a 50/50 fondant/gumpaste mix. I molded it onto the toy mask he has. It couldn't dry completely, so it cracked while I was taking it off. The icing is sprayed red & grey using the Wilton spray colors.
BC cake for my son's first b-day, and my first experience with the joy that is tinting red icing.
Painted fondant packages. Illness put me behind schedule on this cake, so I had to recruit my dad and sister to paint the packages. Had to use curly ribbon after the birthday girl got into the pre-made fondant ribbons.
My first attempt at a topsy turvey cake. This was for my daughter's first birthday. Covered in MMF with MMF confetti, ribbon around the bases, and, thought you cannot see it, swirls and dots painted onto the white fondant.
