Paddle Atv Tire
Hubby is turning 40 and I've never had time to make him a fancy shmancy cake. SO - here is his paddle tire cake for the big 4-0! It is made from 3, 12 inch rounds - about 6 inches high. The rim was made prior to completing the cake - I used a 6inch round cake pan turn upside down, dusted it with corn starch and laid my fondant on it, pressed it into the molding of the edge of the pan and onto the table, then used a pizza cutter to cut about 1/4 inch around the pan. I let that sucker dry for a few days. I also pre-made the bolts and air intake thingy. Once they were dry I aiirbrushed them silver. After assembling the cake and covering with fondant, I used the same 6 in cake pan as a guide to cut a hole in the center of the cake (it took a few tried to get the depth right). Then sunk the silver rim into the hole and made the paddles by cutting 8 5inchx1inch rectangles out of fondant mixed with tylose. I rounded the top/end corners and folded them into an "L" shape and glued them in the cake. Done!

Art Inspired Garden Cake
Loved creating the cake for an artistic lady's 70th. She creates flowers from recycled materials and I was asked to try and recreate them with fondant. She also loves bees and anything ART. :) This cake was delish too! Espresso soaked vanilla cake, filled with mascarpone/kahlua filling, sprinkled with cocoa powder and topped with vanilla Italian Meringue Buttercream.

Albino Retriculated Python
Made for a little girl who loves snakes! Head and tail tip are made from rice krispie treats. Coiled snake made from a 10" & 7" round with the tail being made from 1 10" round and 1 8" round. For the coiled snake: I carved 10" to look rounded and not perfectly round, then did the same for the 7", hollowing out the center a bit and using the hollowed out part to raise up a part of the round to give it depth. For the tail: Rounded the edges of each, cut a circle from the center and cut the whole cake in half, then rounded out the inside part (where you removed the circle from. I then pieced them together, sometimes cutting a semi circle in half to get a more relistic twisty/turny look. I covered the coiled part in one piece and the tail in many pieces, creating folds to cover up the edges. The head was placed on after and I used a pieced of fondant to blend and attach the head to the coiled snake part. The scales were made by using some stainless steel metal mesh I found at a hardware store. He was then hand painted in shades of egg yellow and yellow - diluted with vodka, with a light, light wash over the whole thing once it was done in a very light shade of yellow.

Girls' Weekend Celebration Cake!
A group of 10 college friends, who called themselves "The Quint" were getting together for a Girls' Weekend and needed a cake to celebrate. The bottom tier reflects different parts of their college days - the brick was from the dorms they lived in at Rhodes, their sororities were represented as well as their old bars/hangouts. The top tier depicts the plan for the weekend - relaxing!

Two Minions - Minion Times 2 - Despicable Me
Two minions and a cake - thank you to all the cc'ers before me for creating such a CUTE cake!! The minions are 6in rounds, with a 1/2 ball pan on top. I used SPS plates as dividers but used a dremel to reduce the size of the SPS plates. The square is a 6in as well. Diamond Plate impression mat on the cake base
