Unicorn cake for a potluck. Woke up this morning and realized I had forgotten to make something to bring, so this was my solution. The horn and ears are pulled sugar. I would have preferred modeling chocolate, but I didn't have any and I kind if hate making it. I figured I have lots of sugar on hand, so I'd go with that.

I tried making and sculpting with marshmallow fondant for the first time and this was the result. It took quite a bit of scrapping and remaking pieces, but even though it's not perfect I'm pretty happy with it

I started piping red roses for a Valentine's Day cake. First time making red frosting, and perhaps my last! Next time I want red, I may do the sensible thing and just buy it.

Cake with my sugar cardinal on top. The sugar sculpture is a little too big for the cake, though. Lesson learned! Next time bake first, make the topper second. I hoped to find a place to take a photo without books in the background, but my apartments kind of overrun with them at the moment.
Pulled sugar cardinal on a branch. It's a little bigger than I wanted it to be, and the proportion on the cardinal aren't perfect, but I'm still pretty happy with it
Cake topper for Christmas Eve. The lake is poured sugar and the swans are pulled sugar. Not what I originally planned, but I did the swans as a back-up because I'd done them before. Still, I think it came out nice, even if it wasn't plan A
Swans are on seran wrap for the picture and won't actually go on the cake until Tuesday, but I wanted to get an idea of how they'd fit (and a photo op!)
