Great tutorial...thanx a bunch! Just started working with fondant and saw these in a local shop. Loved the font but had not idea what to do with them so I did not purchase. Will have to go back and pick up a set. Love the font. Thanx again :)
What an awesome technique! For me the trick has always been to roll the fondant/gumpaste out to just the right thickness and to use shortening instead of powdered sugar or cornstarch, but I love your method and I'm going to try it.
Thank you Claire!! I have no idea why when you click my name "shellb123" it comes up 'Chefbrooks' I wish they would fix that.... I'm not chefbrooks folks, that's an error!! I'm Michelle Bauer w/Love That Cake :) Thanks for helping clear that up!!!
Fab tutorial. Definitely going to give it a try next time I use my Tappits. I often tap the things so hard I'm worried I'll break them - and still end up not always being able to get the letter out whole!!!
That's a fantastic idea. Thanks for such a clear and concise tutorial. I usually am ok with tappits but have the all too often off-day! Can I ask if this works with all tappits - small letters and shapes and not just the funky letters please?
Thanks
Ha Ha Ha you guys cracked me up!!! ;) You can also try this method right side up & see which way you like it better!! I like to use Choco Pan gumpaste & it works brilliantly w/this method!! To answer your question; I always roll out my gumpaste to a # 6 on the pasta roller no matter what method I'm doing. When using the tappits the "recommended" way (as long as it's a $ 6 w/gumpaste) I don't really have a problem tapping them out ;) So, at least you all have a variety of ways to try them!! P.S. No more throwing/burning/breaking or swearing at them hopefully right?!?! LOL GL all!! ;)
Wish I knew it when I was doing a Wordle came for a customer. My wife and I had real tough time removing fondant, tapping them hard on different surfaces including palms of our hand. And not to mention how the letters fly away. Would love to try this technique. Just simple question; does wrap leave any marks/line on the fondant? specially if using with small letter-cutters.
Great idea! Yeah, I've done those things - threw them across the room or tapped them so hard!
Wow!
Wow! So easy! So glad I saw this, thanks for the tip!
good tutorial Michelle Beauregard-Bauer, thank you very much

Your welcome! :)
Don't give up now ;)

I don't see why not :) I haven't tried them all but they should be the same!! I use choco-pan gumpaste & it works brilliantly! Good luck!!! :)
OMG! I don't know how many letters I have slung across the room. I will definitely be using this on next makeup of letters. Thanks
Great idea i was just about to give up on my tappits gonna try this. How thin should i roll the gumpaste for this to work? Thanks
Hi , I was just about to get rid of them. You just came in time with these wonderfull solution. Thank u so much. God bless you!
Good idea, what a relief now I can use tappits again thank you.
Now I have to look out for my tappits....thank you for sharing. God Bless :)
I have a decent method.. But it does require tapping till occasionally they fling out in a pile! Lol! I am excited for a less fling method :D

Excited to dust off the old tappits and actually use them again - Thank you for the new improved idea!
Wow what a great idea!
I use fondant with my tappets and put them in the freezer. They generally pop right out with a prod from a stick. But this method looks great.
THANK YOU! I have some broken tappits from swacking the table too hard!

Thank you! The Tappit designs are fun, but a pain to get out. Can hardly wait to try this!
