6 inch offset spatula. I have a favorite. I use it for so many things and if I lost it I'd be very sad.
Are we voting? I concur with @ellavanilla and @MBalaska. My two favorite tools are the 6" offset spatula and a spoonula.
Ok, I know I've been out of it a while, but just what in the heck is a spoonula? On second thought, I'd better google that one.
A decorating tool that is pointed on one end and has a sharp hook on the other. I don't know the name.
I use it for so many decorating purposes, but mainly for getting teeny little gumpaste or fondant items out from where they shouldn't be or fell, or I made a mistake in placing them :) or lifting gumpaste flower petals. Sooo many things. Loove t!
Mine is the 6" offset spatula also! In fact, I have used it for so long that I have a difficult time of telling if my icing is truly medium or thinner. If I swipe through the icing with it then I can determine the correct consistency, if not I tae somewhat of a chance. Crazy Huh?
I only got the offset after I found that my straight one (although fine for applying "the family pattern" to a cake) tended to hang up on the rim of the pan, on "family-style" sheet cakes, and was generally lousy for troweling out flat-and-level areas for piping or edible print application.
