How To Smooth Out Modeling Chocolate On A Figure?

Hello,
I have made deer antlers for a groom's "hunting" cake that is due this Saturday, but the surface of the antlers aren't as smooth as I'd like them to be. I used modeling chocolate to cover the antlers (floral wire & masking tape). Any ideas of how to further smooth the chocolate or create a smoother surface? Or should I just leave them alone? I have yet to start adding the finishing color details to them.
the warmth of your hands can smooth that out by rubbing it and warming it -- so as much as you want to rub you can smooth it completely
