so this is the usual gnache recipe i use to fill cupcakes but i also want to use it to drizzle on top of my buttercream but my issue is my gnache is always on the very runny side. i would love it to be a little thicker for also drizzing
i use 1 cup of heavy cream
16 oz of bittersweet chocolate ( i buy ghirardelli brand)
place heavy cream in a saucpan on medium high until it boils
pour over chocolate mix until shiny
does anyone have any tips or tricks to get it a tad thicker
anyone have a better recipe than this

AMy ganache recipe is thick and I use 1 part heavy whip with 2 parts of chocolate. 8oz heavy whip and 16 oz chocolate. I like the kirkland semi sweet chocolate
you can make your ganache thicker by using more chocolate.
As for how much, you should just test it out, I would probably add an extra 4 ounces, depending on how much thicker you want it.
I do 16 oz choc, 1 1/2 cups cream. I heat mine in a bowl in the microwave on 50% power for 3 minutes. It doesn't get super hot so it takes less time to cool.
You can also heat them together in your saucepan slowly...do not boil. I accidentally did that once and it NEVER set up. Stayed runny.
