I know pricing is different in different areas of the country, but could anyone give me some rough ideas on what to charge for a single layer 12x18 sheet cake that will be served for about 50 people. The cake will have an edible image and buttercream decorations
Thanks in advance
That'll be a tight fit for 50 people as a single layer cake. I used to charge $72.00 for it (based on 36 servings @ $2.00/serving). Adding the edible image would add $10.00 to the price, for a total of $82.00. If it was a premium flavor, cost would go up accordingly.
A$175 plus tax and delivery for 54 servings in a sheet with buttercream accents and an edible image I only have to print and place on the cake, no editing/photoshopping involved.
I don't make single layer cakes, so not sure this will help - But I'd call it 54 servings with 2 layers (one inch layers) and it would be $262. Oh, sorry, that was for fondant - $209 for buttercream.
I am very generous with my single layer cakes, since they are so simple, and I don't go nuts getting the corners perfectly perfect, so i would only charge $135 for it. That edible image would have to be as-is, no editing, though.
Yep, you're right. I used to price it on the low end of the range, so if it fed 36-48 I would go with the 36. If it was a lot of extra work, the price would go up. But she's talking about a basic buttercream sheet cake with an edible image. Can't see it going for $175.
It depends on what your basic buttercream looks like, and tastes like. If it is out of a bucket, or tastes like it, then no, you couldn't get that. But if you make a premium product you are giving it away for much less.
