Hello Everyone! I just began my at home bakery. I finally have my pricing down but wondering if my $3 charge is too low? What is everyone charging to deliver a cake locally- within 20 miles?

I charge $25 delivery fee inside the city and a $50+ fee for outside of the city.

be sure to keep track of your gas, mileage and gas receipts, when you make deliveries, drive to get supplies, etc.

AWe charge $1/minute round trip (based on Google Maps estimates) with a minimum $10 delivery charge. This covers our time as well as gas and depreciation on the delivery vehicle.

That's a pretty good policy.

I charge $30-40 in the city and do close to the $1 a mile thing for long distances that will eat up a lot of time.

We do $10 within our county (about 20 miles is the farthest to the county line) for cupcakes and unstacked cakes. Most of what we deliver is cupcakes within our city. I even did a delivery where I could have walked with the cupcakes, it was that close. So we make money most of the time, and lose it some of the time so it balances out. For stacked cakes, we charge $30 since I have to drive slower and go different routes in some cakes since we have hills and even a mountain pass to get to some parts of the county.
