What frosting would you pair with a gingerbread cupcake?  I've seen vanilla bc & cream cheese.  Anything else?  What's your favorite pairing?

With Gingerbread...a honey flavour would be good (made a gingerbread cheesecake with honey flavoured cookie cutouts on top last year...was a big hit)

I most commonly pair gingerbread cupcakes with caramel buttercream. It is delicious!

Cream cheese-lemon

I like cinnamon paired with Gingerbread. Either in Cream cheese or buttercream

This one. It reminds me of soft vanilla ice cream. I use it on strongly flavored cupcakes...Deep Dark Chocolate, Swiss Mocha, Pumpkin Spice...I think it would be great on gingerbread.

i use an orange cream cheese, its delioous on gingerbread cupcakes!

egg-nog frosting  as I always eat my gingerbread cake with warm egg-nog
