Help! I Overfilled My Cupcake Liners.

I am baking mini cupcakes for my first client I already flopped a batch and this is my second. Apparently I overfilled the cups and now the tops of the cupcakes are touching. Is there anyway I can fix this and make them still look nice??? Any input would be greatly appreciated.

I had this issue last week, not for paying customers thought. I just trimmed off the edges nice and smooth, then iced.

Thank you I just ended up starting from scratch again.

I finally found a way to correct this issue and have cupcakes that are "usable" for most occasions... invert the cupcake and, using a round cutter, trim the excess off... here's my blog post about it.

That is so smart...I am so trying this next time i have "overpoof" as i call it lol

Ainteresting post. there's a bakery here, in socal, that always puts out sloppy cupcakes like that. i have no idea why she thinks it's a good idea. they just look terrible. i mean, there's something to be said for an artisanal look, but sloppy looks like you just don't care.

there is also a sandwich shop/bakery which makes its muffins by overflowing the pan and then cutting them apart so the tops are square. they look quite interesting, actually.

anyway, if that happens to me, i trim and then carefully ice to the edges.
