Holiday Around The Hearth
Bottom layer is a sheet cake decorated as a fireplace. The back drop of the fire is a large chocolate square. Stockings were made of cookies and the tree of royal icing with an ice cream cone base. Presents were made from candy molds.
I made this for my Dad. I realize it is kinda feminine, but I had some things I wanted to practice. This is my first attempt at using marshmallow fondant, as well cornelli lace & the decorative presses. It's not by any means perfect, but I think it's ok. I made a few mistakes, too, but I think I'll hide them in the back(LOL). I tried a different flavor for the icing as well & won't do that again...I used butter flavoring instead of the valencia/creme bouquet that I usually use & really don't like it.
These were done for my kids' Kindergarten & Preschool classes. I was supposed to make the ears out of fondant, but didn't have enough last night at 11:30 and decided to use paper instead. Icing is buttercream decorated with M&M's and Jelly Beans
This cake is a 5 inch cake that I made for my daughter for Valentine's Day. I had made a large cake for my husband and had batter left over so I made each of my kids a cake.
This is the 5" cake I made for my son. The hearts around the outside and on top are sugar cookies. I made the cookies for my kids' classes.
Be My Valentine
I made this cake for my husband for Valentine's Day. It is chocolate, filled and iced with buttercream. The center heart is a sugar cookie and he loves it!
I made these in my Cookie Bouquet class. This was my first attempt at doing anything like this.
