Gingerbread House 2018
George Lord Little House - Kennebunk, Maine Was made by my fiancee and I last year, took about 100 hours to make, was about 60 separate pieces, and had 34 windows. Complete with double mansard roof and architecturally accurate features. Our third shot at an annual gingerbread house, we think it was a great success!
Gingerbread Inspired Fondant Christmas Cake
I absolutely loved making this cake from start to finish. The decorations are all made from fondant yet look like gingerbread. The gingerbread house looks great on top, with a string of christmas bunting on the top tier. The train sits perfectly on the middle tier while the bottom tier has a little christmas village of shops...what's not to love? You can see how I made the fondant gingerbread house by checking out my online video tutorial.
This gingerbread chapel is made from edible materials. It features a gingerbread wall and roof structure, candy window glass, fondant siding and roof tiles. The steeples are made from ice cream cones wrapped in either fondant or gum paste, with the tallest steeple covered in an edible paper and painted with edible gold food colouring. The main entrance was custom designed in clay, a food-safe mould was made from the original and then cast in white chocolate.
