Confirmation Cake - Saint Benedict
A Confirmation cake for a young man that chose St. Benedict as his Confirmation Saint. The inside of the cake is lemon cake with lemony cream cheese icing. Decorated also with cream cheese frosting piping. The topper was hand made and tailor made for the occasion. The topper is entirely edible and made using fondant and pastillage. In the book is written "Ora et Labora", Latin for "Pray and Work," the motto of Saint Benedict. Sancte Pater Benedicte, Ora pro nobis!
My first official cake sale, which kicked off the rest. Ube cake, coconut cream cheese frosting inside, ube buttercream outside. Decorated with rock candy and gel food coloring.
Heron Birthday Cake
I have always wanted to do a cake version of a heron painting I have in my bathroom. This tall cake is two layers of strawberry with cream cheese icing and two layers of vanilla with French vanilla buttercream. The Heron is painted on fondant. Sea grass is made of edible wafer paper. Shells are fondant.
