Pirouette Cake on Cake Central

2-layer 8" vanilla butter pound cake (recipe from this site), with whipped chocolate ganache. Pirouettes on the outside. Tootsie roll roses.

For tootsie roll roses I take a few small tootsie rolls & soften them in the microwave. I shape one into a hershey kiss. Out of the rest I shape the petals (tear drop shape). First one wraps around tip of kiss (the way you would if you were making a BC rose). Then 3 petals around that - curling out the edges. Then 5 petals - again curling out the edges. Then 7 petals (if you want a large rose). It takes some experimenting to get it right!
