This is a graduation cake i did for a friend of mine..her son's graduation colors were black, green, and white...He played on the varisty basketball team so i made a cake to represent the sport and their school mascot...which are the scorpions....i also made 14 individual basketball cakes and two jerseys cake to represent his home/away basketball jerseys, which i will be posting separately...i was very happy with the outcome and so was everyone else!
the cap was made of styrofoam...i actually was going to use a small 4 inch. round pan for the cap but since it was a little heavy i decided to use a styrofoam cap...on the other grad. cake i did it was a 4 inch cake cap...

Just awsome!!!!! I am doing a "basket ball" graduation cake for three guys who all went to the same school. Never thought of putting the ball on top with the cap!!! May have to "steal" your idea!!!!!!
