Anniversary/birthday Cake

This was suppose to be just my parents anniversary cake but with living so far away and gas being expensive it had to serve two purposes! It's a take on the cake in the 2006 wilton book. White cake with black cherry perserve filling, BC frosting, fondant flowers. First time working with fondant and basically my first cake!!! How do I get crisp edges on the side though, that was hard!

Your cake is really pretty. I love those daisies!! Do you crumb coat your cakes?? It really helps to lock the crumbs in. Once it crusts a little you put on the final coat of icing and no crumbs....
