Peach Cross

Peach Cross on Cake Central

This cake was done in buttercream. It was actually for the funeral of a family member, but would make a lovely baptism or communion cake as well. I used Wilton's cross pan and accented the base cake (12x18) with drop strings and drop flowers.

We fed about 60+ people and had a some left over. We never even cut into the cross because there was plenty of cake in just the base.

beautilful cake! I can't get my drop flowers to look like that. They always have a spiky look. Any tips?

Hmmm, maybe try altering the consistency of your icing... One thing you can do also is let them sit for about 10 minutes to lihtly crust, then use your finger to tap down any points.

Great job--it's so beautiful! Do you think the cross would have fit on an 11x15" base cake? I need to make a baptism cake soon and they wanted a cross cake, but it needs to feed about 40.

This cake is absolutely gorgeous! I just love everything about it! How long did it take you to do the decorating?

I made all of the flowers while the cakes baked, so once I got the cake iced, total decorating time was just under a couple of hours. The drop strings and placing the tiny drop flowers and piping the tiny leaves took the most time!

ABSOLUTLY BEAUTIFUL!!!! Would you mind if I copied your idea on a cake I'm doing for my DH childhood Pastor's birthday Saturday? I'm doing three 1/2 sheet cakes put together with a cross on top and some pictures. I was looing here for a pretty decorated cross that I might use and seen yours within the first minute and LOVE it. Thanks for sharing such beautiful work.
