Celebrating Willow: I know that a lot of our heart goes into creating our cakes, especially when they are for our kids or grandkids.My 11 year-old granddaughter was born with a tumor on her heart, she was also born with the heart of a warrior. She was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease and has been through some difficult times, including heart surgery, feeding tubes, and seizures. Since her parents knew before birth there would be serious health issues, they named her Willow because willow trees have the ability to bend in the strongest of storms but never break. The name has served her well. The tumor and the feeding tube are now gone and the seizures are well controlled. Although the path of her disease is unknown,as of now our Willow tree stands strong. I made this cake to celebrate the triumphs of her first decade and for the hopes of her second.It included her favorites, forest animals and flowers.Happy Birthday my sweet one.
