This 2nd attempt at fondant and cake carving is a cake I made for my fathers 80th birthday. The pocketknife cake is 2 carved and stacked pound cakes covered in red fondant. The blades are of royal icing tucked into cake and propped from beneath by clear glue sticks. The flashlight is an ice cream cone wrapped in hand painted fondant and layered with more fondant for its raised areas. Though it's unable to be seen, I used a party bulb that stayed lit and inserted it into flashlight as it's bulb. Everything but the label on the flashlight is edible.
