Sports Birthday Cake

I made this for a little guy I babysit. It was done very last minute so I'm happy it turned out well. I'll fondant except for the giant cupcake which has a chocolate shell and buttercream frosting. The basketball is also made out of chocolate.

So cool. If you don't mind, I may have to borrow that design for my grandson. He and his dad are sports fanatics big time! Just hope I can give it justice!

This is awesome! I have not had luck making the chocolate shell for the giant cupcake. How much chocolate does it take? and how did you make sure it was thick enough where the inner curves are?
