I've been looking at this same idea for my daughter's birthday in May.  She's not a big fan of cake or buttercream (and still I allow her to live in my home!), so I thought I'd do number-shaped giant cookies with some sort of stabilized whipped cream.  Yours is lovely - I hope mine turns out half as nice!
