Thank you so much, Betty.  This was my first attempt at the "painted" buttercream and I loved it.  I can actually do a smooth cake now, so some progress.


I remember you saying it back then.  And no matter when you said it.....this is just Stunning.

Happy birthday!  Purple is my favorite color too.  I made this cake as a gift to a sweet lady who has purchased a few large cakes for others.  I thought she needed one of her own.  She was tickled to death.  It was my first double barrel cake, 6" diameter and 8" tall, in her favorite flavor, fresh strawberry.
