I'm curious----how did you do the top? My husband is an avid deer hunter and I'd like to try that for him. I don't make cakes as often any more, though, because my hands shake so much, especially for small details.
I cut the top and the side pieces from black fondant. I used my Cricut but I'm sure you could use cardstock or paper templates and cut by hand with a sharp blade. My original plan was to use Wilton sugar sheets in my Cricut but it was too brittle. I've heard you can cut those with scissors though, so that might be something to consider, with an image that is not too detailed.
