Always wanting to practice, I made this cake for a coworker/friend who has had an absolutely terrible year. I had been struggling so badly with laying my fondant. I was using cake mixes and tweaking them for flavour in an effort to save money. I think my fondant problems were because box cake is too airy. Made this one from scratch and laid the fondant almost to perfection! Didn't even need a bottom border. NO MORE BOX CAKE! Ever. Also, I absolutely love this cake.
