I made a two tiered cake - one for the book and the other for the cap. Inside they have two layers of Victoria sponge cake and between them a generous layer of pineapple Charlotte cake lined with mixed berries jam. I used a vanilla swiss buttercream for icing the cakes, before covering them with fondant.
